Boundless Brighton & Hove Zen Sangha

meetings & events

Weekly meetings

Our small and friendly group meets weekly - in person in Brighton and online over Zoom. Newcomers are always welcome.

Typically we have two sitting periods of 25 minutes with kinhin (walking) in between, and a teisho (talk), reading or group discussion.

We also regularly hold Big Mind sessions for those who wish to take part.

If you are new to the sangha (or to Zen), the teacher may suggest you arrive a little early for some instruction to better introduce you to the practice.

Donations (Dana)

Supporting the sangha

New practitioners are not expected to contribute for sittings; if you decide you wish to become a regular member of the group, we suggest contributing, preferably by setting up a standing order.

A suggested donation, if you can afford it (no one would be turned away for lack of money) is £7 per sitting or £25 a month. This goes to subsidise anyone who wants to go on sesshin and can't afford it and to buy any equipment for the sangha - cushions, bells etc. It also means we can pay deposits when we are hiring venues for sesshins or ceremonies.

If you are a regular contributor, then there is automatically a discount if you want to go on sesshins with us. Please contact us for the bank details.
